This 8-day Wildlife Tour brings you face-to-face with Sri Lanka’s diverse natural environments, from lush forests to scenic coastlines. You will take a jeep safari through Minneriya National Park to see wild elephants, climb scenic viewpoints like Pidurangala Rock, and visit the expansive Peradeniya Botanical Gardens. The itinerary also covers the cooler climates of Nuwara Eliya with its sprawling tea estates, before taking you down to the southern coast to visit the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery and the historic streets of Galle Fort.

Your chauffeur from Ancient Space tours will meet you at the Colombo Airport upon your arrival. You will then take a short drive to the coastal town of Negombo, where you can check into your hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and recovering from your flight before your overnight stay in Negombo.
After breakfast, you will leave for Dambulla, stopping on the way to visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. Later in the day, you will climb Pidurangala Rock, which offers a great view of the surrounding landscape and the nearby Sigiriya Rock. You will then head to your hotel for an overnight stay in Dambulla.
Start your morning by exploring the UNESCO-listed Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Next, you will visit the ancient Ritigala Forest Reserve and the nearby Cobra Caves. In the afternoon, you will go on a jeep safari in Minneriya National Park to watch wild elephants in their natural environment. Afterward, you will return to Dambulla for the night.
Your day begins with a visit to the historic Dambulla Cave Temple. On the drive to Kandy, you have the option to stop at the Matale Spice Garden to learn about local herbs. Once in the Kandy area, you will visit the scenic Sembuwatta Lake, watch a traditional cultural dance show, and take an evening walk through the Temple of the Tooth Relic before staying overnight in Kandy.
Spend your morning walking through the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, visiting the Embekke Wood Carving Temple, and browsing local gem and craft shops. You will also visit the unique Ambuluwawa Mountain and Nature Reserve. In the afternoon, you will travel toward Nuwara Eliya, passing Ramboda Falls and the Hanuman Temple, before stopping at the Damro Tea Estate and Factory. You will spend the night in Nuwara Eliya.
After exploring Gregory Lake and the town of Nuwara Eliya in the morning, you will travel toward the southern coast via Kitulgala, an area known for its white-water rafting. Upon reaching Galle, you will walk through the colonial streets of the historic Galle Fort and visit the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery. You will stay overnight in Galle.
In the morning, you will travel up the coast to the capital city, Colombo. Your guided city tour will include stops at the Gangaramaya Lake Temple and the open lawns of Galle Face Green. You will also see modern developments like the Lotus Tower, Port City, and One Galle Face Mall before heading to your hotel for your final night.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel to close out your trip. When you are ready, your chauffeur will transfer you to the Colombo Airport and assist you with your departure.
