This 11-day Highland Tour takes you on a complete journey through Sri Lanka’s rich history and breathtaking landscapes. Your adventure begins with the ancient ruins of Anuradhapura and Sigiriya, before moving into the cooler climate of the central highlands. Here, you will take a scenic train ride to Ella, hike through Horton Plains, and walk among lush tea plantations. The trip then brings you down to the southern coast for a wildlife safari, a whale-watching cruise in Mirissa, and a relaxing boat ride along the Madu River.

Your chauffeur from Ancient Space tours will meet you at the Colombo Airport upon your arrival. You will then take a short drive to the coastal town of Negombo to check into your hotel. Take the rest of the day to relax by the beach and recover from your flight before your overnight stay.
After breakfast, you will leave for Dambulla, making a stop at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage to see the rescued elephants. In the afternoon, you will head out on a jeep safari in Minneriya National Park to watch wild elephants in their natural habitat. You will then check into your hotel in Dambulla for the night.
Your day is dedicated to exploring the ancient ruins of Anuradhapura, one of Sri Lanka’s most historically significant cities. You will visit sacred sites such as the Sri Maha Bodhi tree and the impressive Ruwanwelisaya pagoda. In the afternoon, you will return to your hotel in Dambulla for an overnight stay.
Start your morning by climbing the iconic, UNESCO-listed Sigiriya Rock Fortress. On the drive toward Kandy, you will make a stop at the Matale Spice Garden to learn about local herbs and spices. Once you arrive in Kandy, you will check into your hotel and rest for the night.
Your morning includes visits to the revered Temple of the Tooth Relic, a local gem museum, and a batik and silk factory. You will also enjoy a scenic walk through the expansive Peradeniya Botanical Gardens. In the evening, you will watch a traditional Kandy cultural dance performance before returning to your hotel.
As you travel toward the cooler climate of Nuwara Eliya, you will visit the historic Embekke, Gadaladeniya, and Lankathilaka temples. Your scenic drive will also include stops at Ramboda Falls and the Damro Tea Factory. You will spend the evening settling into your hotel in Nuwara Eliya.
Wake up early for a trek through Horton Plains National Park to see the dramatic World’s End viewpoint and Baker’s Falls. You will then take one of the world's most scenic train rides to the town of Ella. Here, you will visit Little Adam’s Peak and the iconic Nine Arches Bridge before staying overnight in Ella.
Your day begins with an exciting early morning jeep safari in Yala National Park, known for its diverse wildlife, including leopards and elephants. You will then travel along the southern coast to the lively beach town of Mirissa. You can spend the evening relaxing by the ocean before your overnight stay.
Start your morning with a memorable whale-watching cruise off the coast of Mirissa. The rest of the day is entirely yours to relax on the sandy shores of Mirissa Beach and enjoy the ocean breeze. You will spend another night at your hotel in Mirissa.
As you travel up the coast, you will visit the historic Galle Dutch Fort and the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery. You will also take a relaxing boat safari along the Madu River, which features a unique fish therapy experience. By the afternoon, you will arrive in the capital city of Colombo to check into your hotel for your final night.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel to wrap up your trip. When it is time for your flight, your chauffeur will transfer you to the Colombo Airport and assist you with your departure.
